Athens one day tour
Our one day tour starts from a fixed location of your choice. We strongly recommend you to start early in the morning because the sun is to strong during the day and we will have more time for the trip and sightseeing. Your driver will wait for you at least half an hour earlier and he will help you with your luggage. Moreover you can ask him to bring you coffee or snack which will wait you at the meeting point*.
Our first destination is Acropolis, the birthplace of Western Civilization. The panoramic view of the city of Athens from the ancient rock is majestic and a unique experience for the visitor. Moreover you can walk in the colorful alleys of the ancient rock.
After Acropolis we will visit the New Acropolis Museum where the visitor can walk among the ancient exhibits and statues travel through antiquity.
Our next destination is the Zappio Park and the Panathenaic Stadium where the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896.
Our tour continues to Syntagma Square, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a symbol of revolution and independence which is located in front of the Greek Parliament. After that we visit the unique architectural monuments in the city center (Academy of Athens, University’s central building and the National Library).
Then we head towards the Temple of Olympian Zeus which was built during the Greco-Roman period and was the largest temple in Greece in the 2nd century AD. After a visit in the temple we head south to Glyfada.
There you can enjoy your coffee or your meal by the sea.
